Summary
During the French Revolution, Maximilien Robespierre, already the most powerful man in France, wants to become the nation's dictator. Plotters seek to bring him down and end his bloodthirsty reign of terror. He further fuels the panic of upheaval in 1794 France by desperately looking for his black book, a death list of those marked by him for the guillotine and a key to help him eventually emerge as the country's ruler
