- Summary
-
- A year after the Salem Witch Trials ended, Tituba's thirteen-year-old daughter Violet, filled with rage and the desire for retribution, joins forces with two other girls in a pact with the Devil
- Townspeople act like nothing has happened since the Salem Witch Trials ended. Violet's mother, Tituba, was accused of witchcraft by Betty and Abigail Parris, two girls Violet had grown up with. Why had Tituba confessed to the crimes? Her mother would never have done the wicked acts she was charged with... would she? After the remaining incriminated are pardoned, Violet learns that Reverend Parris sold her parents to a man who took them north. Wanting retribution, she joins two girls who are also seeking vengeance. The three form a coven, sign their names to the Devil's book, and find solace in the newness and excitement of the magic they're practicing. But does it bring closure or will the it consume them all? -- adapted from jacket
