- "Para sellar su juramento de amor un niño y una niña graban sus nombres en una penca, los padres de la niña desprecian al padre del niño por haberse casado con una mestiza pero a su vez ambiconan los terrenos que este posee. Después de un incidente entre los padres estos se retan a muerte siendo asesinado a traición el padre del niño, quien posteriormente tiene que ir a vivir con un cura. Al paso de los años el niño se hace hombre y deseoso de luchar por la justicia se enrrola en las filas revolucionarias pero un dia que regresa al mismo lugar donde estaba aquel árbol se encuentra con la niña ya hecha mujer y reanudan su amor, sin embargo en poco tiempo tiene que dejarla nuevamente pues tiene que regresar con la revolución para finalmente quedar decepcionado cuando al regresar de una compaña a su ex-novia ya casada con otro hombre."--Publisher's website
