- Summary
- Known for reaching speeds of up to sixty miles per hour, the mako shark is a fierce predator. With its many rows of curved teeth, the mako shark has the incredible ability to hunt vertically, starting at the bottom of the ocean and propelling its body upward to attack its prey. The mako sharks blue topside and white underside allow it to camouflage perfectly into its environment. While mako sharks are apex predators without any natural enemies, humans are causing their population to decline. -- Provided by publisher
