- Aleric starts off life being born of a witch mother and an unknown father. He has inherited the ability to communicate with the great predator birds of the forest and the Baron of the kingdom has recruited him to be his falconer. When he dares to have a romance with the Baron's daughter he is severely beatan and banished to the Holy Lands to fight as a soldier. He becomes a great warrier and finds romance there and also finds his destiny
