- Summary
- On the morning of the vernal equinox in 1899, Sherlock Holmes is roused from his bed by an urgent summons from Inspector Lestrade. A brutal murder has taken place at Stonehenge. Upon arriving at the famed site, Holmes finds the body of a young woman. On her forehead is a druidic symbol. On her side, a message written in an undecipherable language. Both are drawn in blood. But that is not all. The girl was also eviscerated, and her organs placed around her body next to artistically arranged branches from yew trees. ... As the summer solstice, another important day in the druidic calendar draws near, Holmes can only hope that the killer's bloodlust has been satisfied. However, when the body of a young man is discovered at another historic site, the Great Detective's worst fears are confirmed. -- Jacket flap
