Summary
United Church of Canada minister Brown explores 25 familiar biblical figures whose teachings also appear in the Qur'an, in an effort to encourage present-day Muslims, Jews, and Christians toward a more mature and tolerant concept of religion, and to help equip moderate religious people to deal with extremism wherever it is found, whether in Christian fundamentalism, the Jewish Defense League, or Islamic extremism. The text was originally published in mid-2007 in hardcover; the new paperback edition includes a new preface addressing additional theological, sociological and political matters raised at book launches and other events, and a study guide for groups and classes which has been used by various congregations in the U.S., Canada, and the West Indies.
