Summary
The title comes from Wilde's quip when he arrived in New York in 1882, that he had "nothing to declare but my genius." This study traces Wilde's lecture tour that year (he was 27 years old) in which he traveled 15,000 miles and delivered 140 lectures--changing American views, and emerging changed from the experiences himself. Morris is editor of Military Heritage and writes about 19th-century American history and literature. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
